Battery: Campervans and motorhomes in New Zealand and Australia runs on dual battery where the 1st battery is for the vehicle and the second one is for the lights and fridge inside the vehicle. When the vehicle is stationary and not plugged in to a campsite's main power, lights and fridge will run on the second battery and will normally last for a day. That secondary battery will recharge when the vehicle is running. Campervans can then be hooked up and plugged in the the main power of a campsite in able to use the other electric power points inside the vehicle and for the other appliances to work. With US and Canadian Motorhomes, the vehicles are or can be fitted with a Generator so that you would not have to plug in to a camp sites main power. The Generator allows you the freedom to camp anywhere and still have power to the vehicle. Dumping Station: The grey and black water waste must be dumped at the dumping station usually found at a camp site. You must return the vehicle with any of these waste as there will be a hectic cleaning charge fee at the end of the rental if the vehicle's water waste aren't cleaned out prior to returning the vehicle.
There are 2 ways of getting rid of the waste water and sewage water. The most common way of releasing the water is to plug the sewage/waste water hose to the side of the campervan (staff at campervan depot will show where the hose goes into) and the other end of the hose goes into the drain, a designated hole in the ground. The second way of releasing it is to take the tank/cassette out of a drawer outside the campervan and dump this tank/cassette above the dump station hole, open a bar and all the waste water and sewage can run through the drain. To fill the tanks with fresh water you need a fresh water hose which is provided in each campervan. Plug the hose to the water tap next to the dump station and connect the hose to the right connection point at the campervan. Then turn the water on. It might take a few minutes to fill it up, you will hear and see when it's full as water will be dropping aside or at the back of the campervan. Then turn off the water, close all drawers and store the hose. In both cases you should clean the hose or the tank/cassette with clean fresh water and add toilet chemicals afterwards by either putting them into this tank or just into the toilet and flush it down. That keeps the toilet clean and fresh smelling. We recommend you carry an International Driver's Licence (also known as an International Driving Permit). It will make things run more smoothly at the rental counter and if the police pull you over, they can read your license. It is written in 10 languages and serves as an officially recognized translation of your local driving license in over 150 participating members of the United Nations. You should always have your valid local driver's license and passport to show as well. The Permit has been widely used for more than 50 years and is recognized almost anywhere in the world.
A generator is a portable device that creates electricity. If your motorhome has a generator or you are able to rent one, you can camp anywhere without having to connect into electricity. The generator provides the electricity you need to power the microwave, refrigerator, lights, etc.
There are several places you can find the depot location details.
Before You Book: You can find the address for the pick up location by clicking on the "depot info" button on the main search page after you have entered in your search criteria.
Already Have a Booking: Depot location and pick up instructions can be found at the bottom of your confirmation email. If you have followed the link to your confirmation voucher you can also find this information by clicking the red link that says, "Important: please read pick up instructions below".
The reason for this is that some rental companies only give us discounted rates for International travelers. Other suppliers give us rates for both domestic and International residents.
If the vehicle you requested is not available, you will not be charged as you do not have a confirmed booking. We will look for alternative vehicles for you and send you an email with any available options. If you select one of these options and it is confirmed, we will then collect payment.
When temperatures are expected to go below freezing, i.e. 32°F or 0°C, you must drain all water from
the motorhome to prevent water freeze-up. As a precaution against freezing, during expected freezing
conditions your motorhome will have been drained of all water and be winterized by the rental station
prior to departure.
You will not be able to use the water system in freezing conditions so plan in advance to purchase bottled water for drinking and minor cleaning needs. Note: You will not be able to use the bathroom during severe freeze conditions. Plan to use alternative facilities.
Some of our vehicles have live availability. If you book one of these, you will receive a confirmation automatically.
Others will require 24hrs to get back to you with availability. Once your booking is confirmed, you will be sent your confirmation email. If the booking is not available, we will search for a similar vehicle and email you with available options. Money will not be collected until you have a confirmed booking.
Since the rates on our websites are already heavily reduced, a further discount may not be possible. However, there are a few rental companies that do offer multiple hire discounts, this is usually stated in their terms and conditions. If you have any further questions or would like to enquire about this, please let us know and we'll be more then happy to assist.
We currently do not have any relocation specials.
Some rental companies do have these specials from time to time. You would need to contact them directly as these specials come up on an as needed basis and are not displayed on our website.
There are three reasons why your search does not return any results.
1. All of our rental companies in your search location have set a minimum hire period. Please adjust your dates.
2. None of our rental companies allow a one way hire.
3. The pick up date is within 24 - 48 hrs. Please contact us directly.
Please see below for age requirements...
MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENTS:
The general minimum age to hire a vehicle is 21. However, in some cases the supplier may allow an 18 year old to hire a vehicle with additional insurance cover. Please see the terms and conditions of the rental company you are interested in renting from for this information.
MAXIMUM AGE REQUIREMENTS:
Most rental companies do not have a maximum age to rent a vehicle. However each supplier has their own policies, please check the terms and conditions regarding this.
If you have a problem with your vehicle, please contact the rental company in the first instance as they will be able to assist you immediately.
If you are unable to get hold of them, please contact us at any one of our phone numbers.
The amount of the cancellation fee depends on the rental company, please see your terms and conditions regarding this. However, the deposit is nonrefundable. If any further fees apply they will be charged at cancellation.
The most efficient way to cancel your booking is to click on the modification link in your confirmation and cancel from there. We then contact the rental company on your behalf and will advise you the amount of the cancellation fee, if applicable.
Your credit card will only be charged once you have a confirmed booking. At that time the deposit will be collected along with any excess (deductible) or cancellation covers. Each rental company has different policies.
Some companies require full payment upfront whereas others do not require final payment until you pick up the vehicle. Please see the payment details for when the final balance is due. This final balance is automatically taken from the credit card you have nominated, on your due date. No further action is required on your part.
If you chose to pay in your currency instead of the local currency of the country your rental takes place, full payment will be collected upon confirmation. By doing this you lock in the current exchange rate and avoid future exchange fluctuations.
A late model is a vehicle that is between 1-3 years old. In some cases vehicles may be up to 5 years old, depending on how many models the manufacturer has released. We also sometimes say 'recent model' in which case 1-5 years is more accurate
Please check the terms or insurance link on the vehicle you are wishing to rent to see what is included.
Also, when you begin the booking process, you are presented with any insurance excess (deductible) reduction (CDW) options that are available - and this may help you to understand the insurance policy better.
In most cases you will be charged an additional amount of approximately $20 - $30 per day. Please check the rental terms to see what this amount is as it varies depending on the rental company.
Once you have selected the vehicle you are interested in, please read the terms and conditions for that vehicle - they will generally outline the insurance options the rental company offers. You can also click "start booking" and the next screen will give you excess coverage (deductible) options. If you don't see any here, you can add extra insurance/excess cover upon arrival.
A security bond or security deposit is a deposit paid by you which is held by the vehicle rental company while you are renting their vehicle. It is fully refundable when you return the vehicle in a satisfactory condition. Some companies require only a swipe or imprint of your credit card, while other companies require physical payment (and they refund it back at completion of rental). Bonds can vary, and so can the way they are taken - so please check the terms or insurance information on your relevant vehicle.
Most companies offer several options to reduce the size of the bond/security deposit. These are generally a daily charge (the daily charge is not refundable), and any options are outlined in the terms and conditions, and presented at the time of booking.
Please check the terms of each company for the hours that you can pick up or drop off your vehicle.
There are several places you can find information about a depot location.
Before you book: once you have run a search, you can find the address of the pick up location by clicking on the 'depot info' button that appears on each of the vehicles presented as a search result.
If you already have a booking: the depot location and pick up instructions are on your confirmation voucher. You will also see on your confirmation a red link (that you can click on) which says "Important: please read pick up instructions below".
There can be penalties for returning the vehicle after the agreed drop off time. Please check the terms to read about the late return policy of the vehicle you are renting as they can vary from vehicle to vehicle.
Please check the terms of the vehicle you are thinking of renting, but as a general rule, there are no refunds for the early return of a vehicle.
This varies between companies and in some cases an after hours surcharge may apply. Please check the terms of each company for the hours that you can pick up your vehicle.
This varies from vehicle to vehicle, so please read the terms of the vehicle you are wishing to rent. If there is a charge for kms or miles, you can purchase these in advance at the time of booking.
All taxes are included with the vehicle unless otherwise stated.
If taxes are calculated separately, this will be itemized in the payment description of your booking or under "other fees paid locally upon arrival".
Most vehicle rental companies do include 24 hour assistance, but please check the terms of the vehicle you are wishing to rent to be sure.
Please check the vehicle's terms and conditions to see if your national driver's license is acceptable. The requirements can vary from vehicle to vehicle. The rental company may require you to have an International Driver's License.
Please check the terms to see if your desired vehicle is available for drivers under 21. If so, a different insurance policy may apply, so please read the terms and insurance information carefully.
Another way to find out is by beginning the booking process, as all insurance options are usually outlined on the booking page.
Please check the terms of the vehicle you are interested in hiring to see if any additional driver fees apply. Alternatively, you can begin the booking process and you can generally add additional drivers at this stage.
Please check the terms and conditions of the vehicle you are interested in renting to view the one way hire policy. One way hire policies vary between each vehicle rental company.
Under "Rate Includes" you may see that the one way fee is included. If you don't see it there, please check the rental terms.
Please check the terms and conditions to see the payment policy of the vehicle you are interested in. Some suppliers on our website demand prepayment (full payment before the rental commences). For suppliers who require that the balance is paid when you pick up the vehicle, you must contact the relevant supplier after your booking is confirmed to check whether they will accept your early payment.
Due dates for outstanding balances will vary depending on the rental company's terms.
The due dates on your rental balances will be specified in the price breakdown.
"Balance payable on arrival" means you pay for the rental balance when you arrive at the rental counter on the day of your vehicle collection.
"Balance payable upon confirmation" means the rental balance is due once the booking is confirmed. Booking requests will be confirmed with in 24 hours so the balance will be due and charged from the credit card as soon as the booking request is confirmed.
"Balance payable 30 days prior to collection" means the rental balance will be due 30 days before vehicle collection date. This will be charged automatically from your credit card so there is no need to contact us 30 days prior to your pick up.
Please note that some rental quotes will require a deposit amount which will always be charged as soon as the booking has been confirmed.
If we are having problems charging your credit card, we will contact you to verify the details or to check with your bank.
If it is possible to hire baby and child seats or other equipment with the vehicle you wish to rent, these items will be displayed and can be selected during the booking process. Please note that such items are usually subject to availability.
In Australia a child must be in a booster seat until they are either 7 years old, or their weight exceeds 26kg. This booster seat must be fastened to a standards approved fitted anchor point in the vehicle. It is not suitable to use a standard seat-belt to hold the booster seat in place.
Child Restraints
Children under 1 year old must be restrained in a suitable approved child restraint.
Children aged 1 to 7 years must be restrained in a suitable approved child restraint, or occupy a seating position fitted with a suitable seatbelt if one is available.
If the vehicle has 2 or more rows of seats, the child must not be in the front row of seats unless restrained in a suitable approved child restraint or occupying a seating position fitted with a seatbelt.
Australian child restraints must be fitted with a top tether which is attached to a suitable mounting point on the vehicle. The use of European child restraints without a top tether is, therefore, illegal.
Child restraints have been categorised into 3 different weight groups:
> birth to 9kg birth - 6 months (approx)baby restraint or 'capsule'
> 8 - 18kg 6 months - 4 years (approx)child restraint
> 14 - 26kg 2 - 7 years (approx)booster seat and/or harness
This information is a guide and subject to change. We take no responsibility for any incorrect information provided - please always check with your vehicle provider upon pick up.
Children under 5 years must be properly restrained in an approved child restraint (see below).
Children aged 5 to 7 years must use an appropriate child restraint if there's one available. If there isn't, the child must use a safety belt. If there's no safety belt available, the child must sit in the back seat.
Approved child restraints include: - infant restraints for young babies (often called baby capsules) - restraints for older babies and toddlers (often called car seats) - harnesses and booster seats for preschool and school-aged children
The type of child restraint you need to use depends on the age and size of the child.
Infant restraint birth to 9 kg (or up to 13.5 kg) (approx. 6 months)
Convertible (baby to child) restraint birth to 18 kg (approx. 4 years)
Front-facing child restraint 9-18 kg (6 months to approx. 4 years)
Booster seat 14-26 kg (approx. 4 years to 7 years)
Child harness 14-32 kg (approx. 4 to 7 years)
Your responsibility as the driver is to make sure that any child under 5 years is properly restrained by an approved child restraint. They must not travel in the car if you can't put them in an approved child restraint.
As a general rule, if your child's head is higher than the back of the child restraint, it's time to move them into the next type of child restraint. A child can wear an adult safety belt when the belt crosses their pelvis, not their tummy)
If there is a discount or coupon offer available for your travel dates on this website, this offer should be automatically actioned at the time of booking. If the offer is not working, please enter the Promo Code (shown on the coupon) into the Coupon/Promotion Code panel at the top of the first booking screen. Your discount or details of the offer will then show on the following booking screen.

When you search for vehicles, the search results panel will display the average vehicle age. When it indicates a "Late Model" this means the vehicle is around 3-5 years of age. Generally this will be the case for most vehicles unless specified on line with an actual year range.
Vehicles can only be driven on sealed or well maintained roads. The rental company reserves the right to restrict their vehicles from certain areas due to inclement weather. Specific areas can also be restricted.
Please see the terms and conditions for details relating to the vehicle you are renting.
21 years old and over, with a full drivers license. Any drivers under 25 will incur an additional underage driver surcharge. This underage driver fee will be charged separately on the day of pick up, at the rental counter. The surcharge amount varies by company so please check the terms and conditions of the rental company for more information.
1. "Motorhome Cancellation Charges Cover" protects you against additional cancellation charges you actually incur (other than the loss of any prepaid deposit) up to the Cover limit set out in your Cover Confirmation, should you need to cancel your booking due to unforeseen circumstances. Motorhome Cancellation Charges Cover allows you to cancel your rental booking any time prior to a full 8 day period prior to the scheduled pickup time of your rental. Cancellations which are made less than 8 full days (within 8 x 24 hrs) of the scheduled pick up time or if you fail to pick up your rental vehicle for any reason are not covered by Motorhome Cancellation Charges Cover and will attract the normal cancellation charges as outlined in the terms and conditions of your rental contract. Motorhome Cancellation Charges Cover DOES NOT cover or refund the non-refundable booking deposit, which was payable at the time of booking. Cancellations must be made in writing by email, however your booking is not considered to be cancelled until you have received a cancellation notice in writing. The cost of purchasing Motorhome Cancellation Charges Cover is non-refundable.
CLAIMS: If you have selected a Cancellation Charges Cover Policy, all you need to do is notify your booking agent if you wish to cancel (in writing), and the policy will apply to cancellation charges incurred by you (other than loss of deposit) where your cancellation is confirmed as having been received by your agent (the owner of the website you booked on) at least 48 hours for rental cars or 8 full days for motorhomes, prior to the scheduled pick up time for your vehicle. Your deposit will not be refunded if you have not selected the option 'Cancellation Cover + Booking Deposit Refund). Contact details for your booking agent are listed at the base of this page.
If you do not pick up the vehicle on the confirmed day you may be charged a 'no-show' fee.
This fee is outlined in the terms and conditions and is often 100% of the vehicle hire.
Please read the terms and conditions of your booking to find out how many days notice the rental company requires for cancellation. The reason a 'no-show' fee is charged is because the rental company may have declined other bookings based on your confirmed booking.
The amount of the cancellation fee depends on the rental company, please see your terms and conditions regarding this. However, the initial deposit is non-refundable as per standard terms and conditions. If any further fees apply they will be charged as per cancellation terms on your booking.
The most efficient way to cancel your booking is to click on the 'Cancel booking' link in the Customer Support Center. We then contact the rental company on your behalf and will advise you the amount of the cancellation fee, if applicable.
Yes, most rental companies require this. Some companies require only a swipe or imprint of your credit card, while other companies require physical payment (and they refund it back at completion of rental). Bonds can vary, and so can the way they are taken - so please check the terms or insurance information on your relevant vehicle.
Most companies offer several options to reduce the size of the bond and security deposit on the day of pick up. These are generally at an additional daily charge (the daily charge is not refundable). You can ask the rental depot when you pick up the vehicle of ways to reduce your bond (security deposit) or excess(deductible) if it is too high for you to cover with your credit card.
This should be refunded between 1-3 weeks after you have returned your vehicle. If you still have not received your security bond, please contact the rental company or the depot location you hired from and they will be able to assist you.
Yes you will still need to pay a security bond if you take your own insurance/ travel insurance or even our Drive Easy Cover.
However, rental companies usually offer their own insurance covers which will reduce the excess(deductible) liability and the bond (security deposit) amount. Generally you can take out an insurance cover with the rental company directly on the day of pick up.
Yes the security bond is refundable. However, this may not be the case in the event of an accident.
To lower your security bond, you will need to purchase an excess/insurance cover provided by the rental company. This can be added while you are making the booking online or on the day of pick up.
Please note that the Drive Easy Cover is a damage waiver policy only and is not the insurance provided by the rental company direct, so the Drive Easy cover will only reduce the excess(deductible)liability amount, not the bond (security deposit).
Bond (security deposit) amounts can only be reduced if you select an insurance policy that is provided by the rental company.
All major credit cards are accepted to pay this. Please note that rental companies no longer accept cash or debit for the bond (security deposit), this is for security reasons.
The rental price can either be calculated per calendar day or per 24hrs. Each supplier calculates their rates differently. Please see your terms and conditions for your rental company's policy.
Calendar Days: calculates each calendar day as one day of rental.
This is counted from the day of pick up to the drop off day.
For example, if you are renting a vehicle from 1 Jan to 5 Jan this would be considered 5 days of rental.
Calculating at 24 hrs : This calculation is one day is 24hrs.
For example, if you pick up a vehicle at 2pm on 1 Jan and returned it at 2pm on 5 Jan, the total days of your hire is 4 days.
Motorhome bookings calculate by calendar day. The day of pick up is counted as the first whole day and the day of drop off is counted as the last whole day.
Calendar days: calculates each calendar day as one day of rental.
Car bookings calculate by 24 hours. The 24 hour periods start counting from the specific pick up time. For example - if you pick up a car today at 10am and drop it off tomorrow at 11am, the rental company will charge you a 2 day rental as you went over the 24 hour mark from your pick up time. The extra hour you go over that 24 hour mark will cost you an additional day.
Yes, Alteration / Amendment of $25 of the local currency will apply.
Car and Motorhome rental alterations (local currency charges) 25.00
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking
If you shorten your rental on the day of hire or during your hire, you will not be reimbursed as it is considered a "no show" for the requested unused days. Please read your terms and conditions as this may vary per rental company.
If you shorten your rental before pick up, but give notice within the cancellation fees period, the rental company will approve the date change. However, there will be no refund on the unused dates.
If you shorten your rental before pick up and give notice before the cancellation fees period the booking will be recalculated with the current rates for the new dates. If the new dates work out to be cheaper than the old dates then the difference will be refunded and an alteration fee collected. The alteration fee is generally $25.
Please note that if the deposit amount decreases, as a result of the recalculation, the difference will not be refunded. As per standard terms, initial deposits are non refundable. However, if the new deposit is higher then the difference will be charged accordingly
Again please read your terms and conditions as each supplier has different policies about their cancellation fees period.
There are 2 ways of adding miles / kilometres into your booking.
Please make sure you read the rates inclusions and price details, some cars and motorhomes will already include some mileage allowance on their prices.
1. During the booking process
Once you are ready to make a booking and you have clicked on the "Start Booking" button, you will be directed to a secure booking page that allows you to add extras. Scroll down until you see the section headed - "Would you like to add any extra items?" Here you can add mileage/km packages to your booking.
2. After your booking is confirmed
When you receive your confirmation email you can click on the link to visit our customer support centre to modify your booking and add extras. Once in the customer support centre look for the button that allows you to add extras.
DriveEasy is not an insurance cover. It is an independent policy, between you and DriveEasy, which works as a reimbursement cover at the end of your rental
Rental companies have a standard excess (deductible) that will be collected from you if you are involved in an accident. Some rental companies require a bond (security deposit)amount (e.g. $300) but will still require you to have the full excess amount (e.g. $3300) available on your credit card in case the rental vehicle is damaged.
Once the rental company has charged you for the damage to their vehicle, you will need to contact us at accounts@onlinerepublic.com and submit your claim form to claim reimbursement.
For example: if the vehicle is damaged during your hire you will have to pay the rental depot first for the damages. Make sure to get a receipt for the amount paid. At the end of your rental contact DriveEasy and claim reimbursement for the damage cost you have paid, using your receipt and claim form.
DriveEasy reimbursements are usually processed within a week of the claim.
Yes. The supplier of the rental vehicle may require a bond(security deposit) in the form or an imprint, credit card preauthorisation or physical deduction at the time of pick up. This bond is refundable when the vehicle is returned in satisfactory condition. These policies do not negate the need to pay any such required bond.
Yes, you will still have to provide a credit card. The supplier of the rental vehicle may require a bond(security deposit) in the form of an imprint, credit card preauthorisation or physical deduction at the time of pick up. This bond is refundable when the vehicle is returned in satisfactory condition. These policies do not negate the need to pay any such required bond.
You will be refunded if you cancel your DriveEasy policy BEFORE the day you pick up your vehicle.
The time can vary depending on the claim and the information provided. A reimbursement is made once all the relevant information has been received by both the rental company and the policy holder. Usually the DriveEasy cover will be processed on the same week of the initial claim.
Option 2: DriveEasy Premium Excess Motorhome Cover
This reduces the excess and renter liability to the stated amount on your policy, and includes single vehicle accidents, tyre and windscreen damage, undercarriage and overhead (roof) damage and third party damage. The maximum amount DriveEasy will pay out on any one rental is the value of vehicle excess stated on the rental agreement, or $5000 (in local currency where the vehicle is rented), whichever is the lesser amount. Once confirmed, the purchase cost of this policy is non-refundable.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The supplier of the rental vehicle may require a security bond in the form of an imprint, credit card preauthorisation or physical deduction at the time of pick up. This bond is refundable when the vehicle is returned in satisfactory condition. These policies do not negate the need to pay any such required bond.
To submit a DriveEasy claim, please download a claim form by clicking the link below, then send the completed form to accounts@imallbookings.com.
https://www.securebookingpage.com/rental/data/docs/DriveEasyClaimForm.pdf
A reimbursement is made once all the relevant information has been received by both the rental company and the policy holder. The time can vary depending on the claim and the information provided.

The prices shown on the advertisement panels are live prices for pick ups this week. Prices for vehicle rental change with seasonal demand, much like airline tickets or hotel rooms. They can also change per location. Therefore the only way to get an accurate price is to enter your travel dates into the search panel and select your vehicle from the results displayed with your correct dates.
All the vehicle specifications we have available are shown on our website. Unfortunately we do not have printed brochures of any of the vehicles featured on our website.
Please refine your search. You may have to extend your dates to achieve minimum rental periods. Also, if your rental crosses over into a new year, please ensure the correct year is selected on the search.
